Nigerian Institutional Capital in Venture Capital

In 2020, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) which manages the Nigerian sovereign wealth fund delved into the venture capital space by participating in Ingressive Capital’s raise to support high-growth tech startups. This marked the institution’s first venture capital investment although it has a healthy portfolio invested in private equity funds. In 2019, It invested in CardinalStone private equity fund and Verod growth fund III (which targets mid-sized growth companies in Anglophone West Africa) among others.
